Il ritorno
Mettendo a posto oggetti ed immagini (digitali e fisiche) mi sento di tirare le fila di questa mia inaspettata partecipazione al Wao con gli Smarmellati.
Ripensandoci é stato un feat. “Smarmellati feat. Lutòpia”.
Venendo da una estate in cui la mia partecipazione a due grandi Festival Trasformativi ha avuto un significato politico (sì, come in “diritti civili” e “privacy” - Ma non stavamo solo ballando?) essere invitato al Wao da Walter e Francesco ha voluto dire tornare a casa e avere la possibilità di lutòpizzare questa magnifica foresta umbra.
Non voglio essere io quello che farà il report su r/psytrance sul Wao per dare consigli o celebrarlo, ma in generale la mia esperienza é stata super positiva. (comunuque qualcuno dovrebbe farlo, in inglese) Grandissimo potenziale.

Ok ma alla fine che cosa abbiamo fatto?
Walter Vernietzsche ha una storia che partiva dal Wao dell’anno prima, dove E.T. non era riuscito a ripartire con la sua astronave e passava un anno nella foresta sotto il Monte Peglia. Ad un certo punto entrano in gioco Rick & Morty che cercano di riportarlo a casa (?). In ogni caso questa é una delle due narrazioni che gli Smarmellati portano al Wao.
La Navicella é fatta da Alessandra e Alba. Io ho aggiunto un paio di strisce elettroluminescenti reattive al suono. Grande lavoro.
Fermiamoci un attimo per capire che cosa rappresentano gli Smarmellati da un punto di vista sociologico: una rivisitazione del ruolo dell’animatore del villaggio vacanze, un intrattenitore.

La scocca ed la presa USB esterna sono pensate per poterlo portare in giro nelle prossime Smarmellate.
Usciamo il portale una sera prima, e finalmente lo vediamo solo una volta, per tutta una serie di eventi che non rientrano in questo report non lo taglieremo mai, iméne ancora illibato ma che porta nella sua storia un sacco di amore e sfrozi collettivi.

We’re Back!
As I organize objects and images (both digital and physical), I feel compelled to summarize my unexpected participation in Wao with the Smarmellati.
Looking back, it was a feat. “Smarmellati feat. Lutòpia.”
Coming off a summer in which my participation in two major Transformative Festivals had political significance (yes, as in “civil rights” and “privacy”—but weren’t we just dancing?), being invited to Wao by Walter and Francesco meant coming home and having the chance to lutopize this magnificent Umbrian forest.
I don’t want to be the one to write the report on r/psytrance on Wao to give advice or praise it, but overall my experience has been extremely positive. (However, someone should do it, in English.) Great potential.

Okay, but what did we end up doing?
Walter Vernietzsche has a story that began at last year’s Wao, where E.T. was unable to take off in his spaceship and spent a year in the forest under Mount Peglia. At a certain point, Rick & Morty come into play and try to take him home (?). In any case, this is one of the two stories that the Smarmellati bring to Wao.
The Scaceship was made by Alessandra and Alba. I added a couple of sound-reactive electroluminescent strips. Great work.
Let’s pause for a moment to understand what the Smarmellati represent from a sociological point of view: a reinterpretation of the role of the holiday village entertainer.
Like the Psygim when ØKAPI played
The portal has its own history, which began with Mamma Michelina and two hula hoops.
Assembly and sewing took place in the camp by Arianna and Oscar.
As I explained elsewhere, the system is based on Wled soundreactive, an open-source community firmware that I am using here on a quinled dig uno .
The shell and external USB port are designed so that you can take it with you to future Smarmellati events.
We show the portal one evening before, and we will only see it once, for a whole series of events that are not included in this report. We will never cut it, still untouched but carrying a lot of love and collective efforts in its history.
